England youth international forward Tammy Abraham has dismissed reports by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that he has agreed to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
The forward who is on loan to Swansea City from Chelsea confirmed he met with the President of the NFF Amaju Pinnick who is a close friend to his father, but denied agreeing to switch allegiance to Nigeria during their meeting.
He said he has informed the English FA that he is still available for selection if called up by the youth team coach of the Tree Lions.
“Contrary to reports in the media today I would like to clarify that I have not agreed to switch my national team allegiance.
“I can confirm I met the President of the NFF after our last game against Tottenham at Wembley on Saturday given he is a friend of my father.
However, any suggestion that I have made a decision to change my international representation is incorrect and wide of the mark.
“I have informed The FA that I remain available for selection for England.”
