Why Zambia Are More Dangerous Than A Year Ago – Rohr Explains

The coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has revealed the changes that has made the national team of Zambia more dangerous from the last time they faced Nigeria.

A year ago at the start of the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers, Nigeria defeated Zambia 2-1 in Ndola courtesy of goals from Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Since then Zambia has evolved into Nigeria’s strongest challengers for the sole ticket to be at the World Cup ‎from group B, largely due to their back to back win over Algeria.

Rohr explained in the pre-match conference ahead of their second meeting with Zambia how the Chipolopolo have evolved into a more formidable opponent than a year ago.

” It’s going to be a very exciting game, because we are two teams who play very good football, different style of football of course. They have a team with lot of young players, who are very quick especially their strikers”, Rohr said.

” The Zambia team of one year ago is not the same today.. They’ve change a lot. They now have very young players, who are coming in from the Under-20 team that did very well by winning the Africa Youth Championship and also got to the final of the World Youth Championship.

” So we know it’s a different team we are going to be up against on Saturday. We are ready, my team is properly motivated ahead of this game”, he concluded.
