Coach of Turkish League side Sivasspor has rubbished suggestions that left full back Elderson Echiejile will be out for six weeks due to an injury picked up while on international duty with Nigeria.
Echiejile was replaced with less than 15 minutes left to play in Nigeria’s crucial World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Zambia, which they won 1-0 to progress to the World Cup.
Reports broke out that the left full back will be out for six weeks, hence he won’t play in Nigeria’s final World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Algeria in Algiers, but coach of Sivasspor has denied the reports.
Manager of Sivasspor Samit Aybaba said the defender is in line to play in their game on Sunday against Kasimpasa as the ankle injury he picked up is not as bad as reported.
” Echiejile will be available to play this weekend. But we have to check other players who were also on international duty”, the coach said at the pre match conference ahead of Sunday’s league game.
