Arsenal Nigerian forward Alex Iwobi was not listed for action as Arsenal claim their third straight win in the Europa League with a 1-0 win over ten man Crvena Zvezda.
Iwobi started Arsenal’s last league game against Watford which they lost 1-2 at Vicarage Road, and many expected him to keep his spot in the team for their Thursday continental engagement.
Manager Arsene Wenger rested him alongside other stars of the team, their absence gave Arsenal fans favourite Jack Wilshere the perfect chance to remind the fans of his quality.
However while Wilshere would easily pass as the Man of the Match, Oliver Giroud stole the headline with a spectacular over head kick to power Arsenal to a 1-0 win.
The win takes Arsenal to within one point of qualifying for the knock out stage of the competition, and three more points will be enough for them to finish as group winners.
