Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun should be passed fit for Nigeria’s upcoming engagement against Algeria and Argentina in a dead rubber World Cup 2018 Qualifiers and a friendly game respectively.
Balogun underwent surgery after fracturing his cheek bone in Mainz 05 0-2 loss to Schalke04, and according to popular Nigerian surgeon Kenneth Paul he could be set for a swift return but with protective mask.
” The surgery took place early, so I’m assuming the swelling wasn’t much after the fracture. He should be fit, contrary to speculations that he could miss the game against Algeria and Argentina”, the Super Eagles fan told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” He (Balogun) should miss up to ten days maximum, worst case scenario is two weeks but doesn’t look like the case in his situation. As a medical doctor I dare say he will be fit for the game but he will most likely play in a protective face mask”, Kenneth concluded.
