Super Eagles forward Moses Simon took his goal tally to three for the season after scoring twice in Gent’s 3-0 win over Eupen in a Belgium First Division A game.
Simon opened his season goal account last weekend in their 1-1 draw against Kortrijk, and the forward who has been handed penalty duties by the new coach of Gent Yves Vanderhaeghe didn’t disappoint when the chance to put his team ahead via the spot came his way.
Simon scored from the spot in the 36th minutes to put Gent two goals up after Yuya Kubo have given them the lead in the third minutes, and he made no mistake two minutes later when he was handed another responsibility from the spot.
He dispatched the spot kick with ease to put his team 3-0 up in the game where three Nigerians namely Simon, Anderson Esiti and Samuel Kalu were on from the start for Gent .
The trio lasted the entire duration of the game, but while Simon hugged the headlines with his brace from the spot, Kalu and Esiti were both booked during the course of the game.
Esiti was yellow carded in the 53rd minute while Kalu picked up a caution for foul play in the 72nd minute in what can be termed a bad tempered game as seven yellow cards were dished out by the referee.
