The President of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) Claudio Tapia has confirmed that Nigeria agreed to play with their best players when both nations clash in a friendly game in Russia next month.
Nigeria will fly to Russia for the game which will take place on the 14th of November, four days after their World Cup 2018 Qualifiers dead rubber tie against Algeria in Algiers as the Super Eagles are already through to the World Cup.
Coach of the Nigerian team hinted before the friendly game was arranged that he won’t field his top stars against Algeria, but that appears not to be the case anymore with Argentina claiming Nigeria promised to field their top stars in the friendly game.
” We (Argentina) are looking forward to the game, Nigeria are going to line up their top stars as agreed, so hopefully the game will be a classic. At the end of it all both teams will be better off regarding preparations for the World Cup”, Tapia said to the media in Argentina.
