Moses Simon In Race To Be Fit For Algeria, Argentina Clashes Due To Toe Injury


Super Eagles dazzling forward Moses Simon is battling to be fit for Nigeria’s upcoming games against Algeria and Argentina as he is presently nursing a toe injury.


The Gent forward is in the list of players called up by coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr for the dead rubber World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie against Algeria, and the friendly game against Argentina in Russia.

Already Nigeria have suffered one withdrawal in Odion Ighalo who is down injured, and set to be out for two weeks, Simon is also on the verge of missing the game.

Simon missed Gent’s 1-0 win over Standard Liege due to the toe injury, but the length of time he will be out is not yet known as at the time of filling in this report.

The injury also brought his scoring run to an end as he has found the back of the net three times in his last two games for the club with his last set of goals coming last week, when he bagged a brace from the spot against Kortrijk.
