There are strong indications that Dutch-Nigerian defender Tyronne Ebuehi who is more at home as a right back could make his debut for Nigeria against Algeria from the left back spot.
Ebuehi has been a part of the senior team of Nigeria since the start of qualifiers but missed out on the squad for the last game against Zambia which they won 1-0 to progress to the World Cup.
Named in the squad as a replacement for the injured Elderson Echiejile in the squad for the game against Algeria, Rohr has hinted he could do a job as the left back of the team against Algeria.
” Elderson is not around for the game, so we will try out some players in roles we know they can play. Ebuehi and Aina are young players who are in the team for the Algeria game and we know they can play there”, Rohr said.
Playing as a right back won’t be entirely strange to the 20 year old as he filled in admirably well for his team in same role last season, when the regular left back of the team pulled up injured.
