Newly invited Super Eagles defender Brian Idowu is in line to make his debut for the team against Argentina on Tuesday following his arrival at the hotel of the team ahead of the game.
Idowu joined the team upon arrival in Russia for the high profile friendly against Argentina, and if he impresses the technical crew of the team he will make his debut.
“I’m happy to be here, invited to the Super Eagles, I will do my best take this chance and be with the squad for a long time.I will support and help the team in any way I can.
“I’m very excited because this is a great opportunity.I hope to bring joy and excitement to all Nigerian fans”, he told the official twitter handle of the Nigeria Football Federation.
Already he has spoken with some players of the team about his eagerness to play in the tie in his bid to force his way into the World Cup plans of coach Gernot Rohr.
Originally named on the standby list, it’s still unclear to Owngoalnigeria.com if the the 24 year old Amkar Perm defender has secured a Nigerian passport which will make him eligible for his competitive debut next year.
