Arsenal Coach Wenger Task Iwobi To Replicate Goal Scoring Form For Nigeria Against Spurs

The manager of Arsenal Arsene Wenger says Alex Iwobi brace for Nigeria against Argentina will no doubt improve his confidence in front of goal.

Speaking at the pre match conference ahead of Arsenal’s game against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, Wenger said he has always wanted Iwobi to add goals to his game, something he now seems to be doing for Nigeria.

Iwobi has scored three goals for Nigeria in their last three games , and the goals were very crucial to the West Africa nation as the one against Zambia was the winner which qualified them for the World Cup in Russia.

His other goal came against Argentina, and the brace helped Nigeria to complete a remarkable comeback from two goals down to beat Argentina 4-2 in a high profile friendly on Tuesday.

Wenger is hoping he will replicate same form for Arsenal starting from this weekend game , which is the North London derby against bitter-rivals Spurs.

“What we want from him is to add goals to his game, and these kind of experiences (playing and scoring for Nigeria) will help him be confident to score,” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
