Dinamo Zagreb Algerian forward Hilal Soudani has warned Nigeria’s group D rivals Croatia to be wary of the Super Eagles when both teams clash at the 2018 World Cup in Russia in their opening game.
Soudani whose country Algeria lost 1-3 to Nigeria in Uyo in their second World Cup 2018 Qualifiers tie in Uyo believed Nigeria have the potential to trouble Croatia at the World Cup.
He mentioned Mikel Obi, the captain of the Super Eagles who scored in the 1-3 loss to Nigeria and Victor Moses who scored a brace in same game as players who have the quality to make Croatia worry when both teams clash at the World Cup.
“I did not play in one game, but I watched the game on television and I can say Nigeria is an extremely powerful team. They are physically powerful, really powerful,” Soudani told Sportske.jutarnji.hr.
“Apart from that, they have a lot of players in big clubs and they didn’t lose a game in the qualifiers.
“They have Mikel Obi and Victor Moses who plays for Chelsea and other good players too. I think Croatia need to be careful.
“They beat Argentina 4-2 few weeks ago in a friendly match. Though you could say it was a friendly game, but it was a victory that points to Nigeria as a serious contender in the group.
“Croatia and Argentina are better than Nigeria especially if you look at the players they have, but they really have to look at Nigeria, for me they are almost at the same level.”
