The senior national team of Nigeria popularly referred to as the Super Eagles have secured a Training Base Camp for their campaign at the World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively report that the team lead by coach Gernot Rohr and secretary Dayo Enebi settled for the Sanatorium Mashuk Aqua Therm Resort based in Pyatigorsk, South Russia.
Prior to the final draw, Rohr had hinted that the Super Eagles are going to secure a base camp which won’t be far from the venue of their first round matches at the World Cup 2018.
The Eagles are expected to fly out from their base camp to venues of their game, and return after the game until at least after the group matches where they will play Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
Mashuk Aqua Therm passed FIFA’s requirements for a Base Camp as it is at a distance to an airport capable of landing medium-sized aircraft and of maximum distance from the training site of Nigeria.
