Victor Moses Misses Out On Final Three Man List For African Player Of the Year Award


Super Eagles of Nigeria forward Victor Moses was not included in the final shortlist of players for the 2017 Aiteo CAF Awards African Player of the year category.


Moses who was ever present for Chelsea in their title triumph last season, also played a big role in helping Nigeria progress to the World Cup with a game to spare.

His form in the year under review made many to rate him among the top three who will vie for the gong of the best player in Africa, in a ceremony schedule to take place on the 3rd of January in Accra.

Red hot Liverpool forward Mohammed Salah, Borussia Dortmund Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Sadio Mane also of Liverpool were the final three players shortlisted by CAF for the award.

Salah played a big role in helping Egypt qualify for the World Cup, and Mane was also inspirational for Senegal who are also part of Africa’s representatives at the World Cup.

Aubameyang is however included on the strength of his performance for Borussia Dortmund last season, where he was the highest scoring African player in Europe, although his country Gabon failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Shedrack Obi
