Agada’s departure left a vacuum in the attack of the U19 of of the club, and Boyi was brought in as his replacement on a loan deal with the option of a three year deal at the end of his loan stint.
Boyi arrived Israel few days ago, and immediately got in the act for his new team in his first league game by scoring a brace in their derby win over Hapoel Jerusalem in the Junior League.
A tireless winger, who is blessed with searing pace and the ability to finish off move, he is expected to progress from the U19 to the first team before the end of the season.
He was discovered by same scout who discovered William Agada, Bauchi based scout Abba Nasir Manna popularly referred to as Sergio , and his close ties with Israeli agent David Ouziel earned Boyi the chance with Hapoel Katamon.
According to Nasir, Boyi was close to joining Nigeria Professional League giants Kano Pillars before he spotted him, and recommended him to his partner Ouziel.
” Boyi is one of my best discoveries after Agada. He was close to joining Kano Pillars before I spotted him, and spoke with my partner Ouziel, who gave him the option of Hapoel Katamon as replacement for Agada”, Nasir told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” He is a young lad, who still has some way to go in his career, and hopefully he will progress as expected at Hapoel Katamon, he is a gifted footballer”.
