MLS side Toronto FC appears to have pulled a major transfer coup after handing 18 year old Nigerian right full back Muhammed Saleh a chance to try out with their reserve team.
Saleh is expected to spend time with the B team of the MLS side, who are campaigning in the second division in America, before a decision will be made on his potential signing.
However, Kaduna based journalist Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman has already passed his judgement on the full back, as he told Owngoalnigeria.com in a chat that Saleh has all it takes to ink a permanent deal with Toronto FC.
” He is the type who gallops up and down the flanks. A modern day full back, who is blessed with pace and strength in duels particularly aerial duels. I have seen him play thrice and he reminds me of when Manchester City defender Danilo was in his prime”, Mowiz told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” I love his ability to cover up for his central defenders, particularly when there is the need for an extra man in defence. He has all it takes to succeed in his trails with Toronto FC”.
The full back was spotted by American based football intermediary Damani Ralph during his visit to Nigeria, where he watched a tournament played in Lagos and Kaduna over five days.
Damani who is the vice-president of the American arm of UK based Stellar Sports has so far provided MLS opportunities to three players discovered during the tournament in December.
