Portuguese league giants FC Porto are currently running the rule on two Nigerian prospects Yaro Zakari and Isah Musa, Owngoalnigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
The duo resumed training with the B team of Porto two weeks ago, thanks to their fine display for low division Portuguese side Vizela, the team they went to upon arrival from Nigeria.
They were spotted by the scouts of Porto during the last annual Gee-Lec Academy scouting programme, but after a week training they were sent to Vizela, where Porto will continue to run the rule on them.
Musa and Yaro have been particularly impressive, and their form has made Porto to give them another chance with their B team. This much was confirmed to Owngoalnigeria.com by their Nigerian intermediary Babawo Mohammed.
” Yaro and Musa are back at Porto, they are currently training with the B team. We are hoping they will be able to secure a deal with the club. Their form at Vizela obviously helped them”, Babawo told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Initially three of them went to Porto, but after a week training or so, Porto took them to Vizela where they kept on monitoring them, and bar Emmanuel Kuku, Yaro and Musa are back at Porto”.
The annual Gee-Lec Academy scouting programme has history with FC Porto, as it was from the tournament that Porto spotted Nigeria international defender Chidozie Awaziem, who is presently out on loan to Nantes.
Other players like Chidera Ezeh, Fidelis Irhene, Musa Yahaya, Moses John and Jacob Njoku have all benefited from the good working relationship Babawo has with the Portuguese side.
