Little known Nigerian forward Pentecost Obiechina is slowly becoming the toast of the fans of top division team FK Senica, where he is currently playing on loan from second division side FK Inter Bratislava.
Pentecost arrived Slovakia last year after impressing an English agent Emmanuel Forster, during a short trial with Nigeria National League (NNL) side Ikorodu United in Lagos.
According to his Nigerian representative Faisal Abdullahi, the Kaduna born forward impressed a Lagos based intermediary Vincent Alumona in Kaduna, and Vincent took him to Lagos from where he was sighted by the agent who took him to Slovakia.
” Pentecost impressed Lagos based agent Vincent Alumona during a tournament in Kaduna. Alumona took him to Ikorodu United, but they didn’t pick any interest in him. Fortunately an English agent Emmanuel Forster was watching “, Faisal told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Forster contacted me after speaking with Pentecost, and the rest as they say is history. He is progressing really well at FK Senica, although he hasn’t played many games as we expected”.
On the reason why he has played just four games, Faisal explained that he had a serious tooth problem which ruled him out for months, shortly after he joined Senica on loan.
” He has tooth surgery after his move to Senica on loan from Inter Bratislava. His movement to Senica a top division side from a second division side is another story on his own, as he played just two games before he was snapped up”, Faisal concluded.
19 year old Pentecost is contracted to Inter Bratislava till the summer of 2020, but it appears he won’t he at the club for long as according to Faisal, there has been contact for his services by teams in and outside Slovakia.
