Dutch-Nigerian defender Tyronne Ebuehi has passed his medicals at Portuguese side Benfica ahead of a potential move to the club from his Dutch side ADO Den Haag.
Ebuehi had his medical at the club earlier today according to the print edition of Portuguese daily Record, and his move is set to be announced later today or tomorrow morning.
According to Record, he will be loaned back to ADO Den Haag to complete the season before teaming up with the team after his expected participation with Nigeria at the World Cup in Russia.
ADO Den Haag were forced to do business for him in January as he will be out of contract in the summer, after his refusal to sign an extension offered to him by the club two months ago.
English Championship side Norwich City, Greek giants Olympiakos and Belgium side Anderlecht were all linked with move for the 20 year old, who had a fantastic game for Nigeria in their 4-2 friendly win over Argentina.
Benfica won the race for his signature despite the player visiting England on invitation from Norwich City, who were hoping to lure him from the Portuguese side two weeks ago.
