Highly rated German-Nigerian defender Felix Uduokhai has confirmed talks with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over a possible switch of allegiance to Nigeria ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

20 year old Uduokhai has been a revelation at the back for Wolfsburg this season, following his move from second division side 1860 Munich in the summer.

He has already represented Germany at various youth levels, and last represented the U19 of the team, but he has now confirmed that he is open to switching allegiance to Nigeria.

” I have not been to Nigeria yet, but I talk about it with my father, and I have relations there. That’s where my roots lie, it’s important for me to stay connected”, he told Kicker in an interview.

Despite admitting that his immediate goal is to break into the U21 team of Germany, Uduokhai however confirmed that he is open to playing for either Nigeria or Germany at senior level, if the need arises.
