Newly capped Super Eagles goalkepper Francis Odinaka Uzoho kept his second clean sheet in three games for Deportivo La Coruna B in the Spanish Segunda B, following their 0-0 draw away to ten man San Sebastian de los Reyes.
Uzoho has firmly established himself as the first choice of the B team of the LaLiga side since the turn of the year, as he has kept goal in back to back league games as opposed to the first stanza where he was in and out of the team.
So far he has kept goal in 11 games for the B team, and two for the first team in the LaLiga, the last of which was the 1-2 loss to Girona on the 23rd of October last year.
The axing of coach Pepe Mel who handed him his first team bow has proved costly for him, with his replacement Cristobal Parralo preferring the duo of Ruben Martinez and Costel Pantilimon ahead of the Nigerian.
Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr confirmed during a television interview with SuperSports that he has attached the goalkeeper trainer of the Nigerian team to the shot stopper.
According to Rohr, the Eagles goalkepper trainer is expected to monitor and improve the training regime of the goalkeeper ahead of Nigeria’s campaign at next year World Cup.
Third choice for Nigeria at the U17 World Youth Championship in 2013, he has grown in leaps and bounds since his move to Deportivo La Coruna one year ago, and he made his senior debut for Nigeria in their 4-2 friendly win over Argentina.
