Manager of Leicester City Claude Puel has showered praises on Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho after his brace helped them to a 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup replay.
The Nigerian who has been a bit part player at Leicester since his move to the Foxes, scored a goal in each half to send Leicester through to the next round of the FA Cup.
His second goal was given after the referee made use of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to overrule his assistant who had raised his flag for offside against Iheanacho.
Iheanacho’s goal went into the record books as the first to be awarded using the VAR, and manager Puel has expressed his delight with the brace scored by the Nigerian.
Puel who ruled out any plans of letting the Nigerian leave the club in January, once again spoke about the quality he possesses that helped him in scoring tonight’s brace.
” Kelechi showed a good attitude, worked hard for his teammates and got between the line. His first goal showed a lot of quality and the second was a fantastic move between him and Riyad Mahrez”, Puel said at the post match conference.
