Nigeria international striker Kelechi Iheanacho scored twice as Leicester City secured a 5-1 win over Peterborough United to progress to the next round of the FA Cup.

Iheanacho who scored one of the goals that helped Leicester beat Fleetwood City in the FA Cup replay that qualified them for the next round, grabbed the second goal for Leicester after debutant Fousseni Diabate has given them the lead in the 9th minutes.

The Nigerian profited from Peterborough United sloppiness while in possession in the middle, and even though a pass would have been his best bet. He went for goal with a left footed curler which nestled in the net to put his team two goals up.

Thirty minutes into the game, he was once again at the end of a well whipped in cross by Christian Fuchs and this time around his one time instinctive finish with his right foot left the goalkeeper of Peterborough United stranded.

He came close to scoring a hattrick before the end of the half but his effort sailed narrowly off the bar. He was however denied any chance of a hattrick when he was substituted in the 80th minutes.

Wilfred Ndidi rounded up scoring for Leicester City with their fifth goal of the game in stoppage time after coming on as a substitute in the 64th minutes for Harvey Barnes.

The goal was the first for Ndidi in the FA Cup this season but for Iheanacho the brace took his FA Cup goal tally for the season to three in three games, while overall he now has nine goals in nine FA Cup games.
