Top division Norwegian side Valerenga have confirmed the contract extension of 20 year old Nigerian forward Chidera Ejike at the club till the summer of 2021.
Ejike who was once of the radar of English Premier League giants Manchester City , before having trials at Liverpool last year was heavily linked with a move away from Valerenga after a superb showing in his first season at the club.
He played 21 games last season and scored five goals in all competitions for the Norwegian side, and the player who is well known for his dribbling abilities says increasing his goal count is his major objective when the season starts in Norway.
” Dribbling is fun to me and it has endeared me to the fans of Valerenga, but I am seriously working on my goal scoring act. I should be scoring more, and that is my aim next season”, Ejike known as Ejuke in Norway told Owngoalnigeria.com.
The Kaduna born forward was a member of the Nigeria U19 team under coach Manu Garba last year before his move to Norway. He played for relegated Nigeria Professional Football League side Gombe United but left after six games into the season.
