Fans of Seattle Sounders, the former club of former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins are going to have the pleasure of watching another Nigerian dorn the colours of the club in Ibrahim Usman.
18 year old Usman has put pen to paper for the MLS side and he is expected to arrive the club later this week to team up with the youth team from where his progress will be monitored for promotion to the main team.
The Eco FC of Lagos left back was spotted by highly respected MLS intermediary Damani Ralph during his visit to Nigeria last year. Same event where he spotted Saleh Muhammed who has also joined Toronto FC.
Usman is technically gifted and stands at an impressive height of almost six feet and he is also quick, a trait which is surprising considering tall players are hardly the quickest.
He becomes the second player from Lagos based ECO Football Club to move to the MLS courtesy of Damani Ralph, who is expected to arrive Nigeria this year on another scouting mission.
