On loan Chelsea forward Tammy Abraham says his return back to goal scoring after a goal drought since October has given him the needed impetus to push for a spot in the squad of England for the World Cup.

Abraham ended his hoodoo in front of goal with a brace and two assists for Swansea City in their 8-1 thrashing of Notts County in the FA Cup, and the 20 year old is hoping to maintain same form till the end of the season.

Despite his eligibility to represent Nigeria at the World cup, he opt for England and made his international bow in a friendly against Germany, before earning his second cap against Brazil in another friendly game.

He is also hoping to make the next England squad for their upcoming internationals next month, a feat he believes he will be able to achieve after his return to goal scoring ‎against Notts County.

“England is at the back of my mind. I know I have to give a performance to get back in the team, whenever I am given the chance. I have to keep proving myself and that’s what I am willing to do”, he said after the game against Notts County.

‘Harry is a player I have always looked up to and he is one of the greatest strikers. I obviously follow his past and what he has been through so it gives me confidence that there is a light at the end of every tunnel. It encourages me to keep pushing and try my best.’
