On loan Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi was once again in fine form for his loan side Royal Excel Mouscron as they battled to a 2-2 draw against Waasland -Beveren in a first division game in Belgium.
Awoniyi who found the back of the net in their dramatic 3-4 loss away to Standard Liege, this time around turned provider to help his team take the lead in the 24th minute of the game that saw six bookings.
The Nigerian provided an inch perfect lay off for Dorin Rotariu to put his team ahead but Isaac Kiese Thelin ensured both teams go into the break level when he levelled matters for his team on the half-time mark.
Floriano Vanzo gave Waasland-Beveren the lead in the game for the first time in the 65th minute. A lead they hanged onto till two minutes to regulation time when Selim Amallah rescued a point for Mouscron.
As things stands Awoniyi is battling to avoid relegation for the third consecutive time in his career as his first two loan spells have ended in his team suffering relegation at the end of the season.
Mouscron are hovering in the relegation zone in Belgium, but Awoniyi has been one of the few success of a rather frustrating campaign for the modest team.
