Fans of Dutch Eredivisie side NAC Breda have been assured by their Nigerian striker Sadiq Umar who is on loan from Italian Serie A side Roma that he will above anything score goals for the team.
The giant striker made the vow in an exclusive interview with Owngoalnigeria.com shortly after scoring the lone goal for his team in their 1-3 loss to AZ Alkmaar. His second goal for the club since his loan move in January.
” I remember my first interview with you guys and I said I will score goals. It’s just what a striker is all about and to the fans of NAC Breda expect more goals from me. The aim is to rescue the team from relegation with my goals”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat.
” My fitness hasn’t been this good in a while, and I feel like I’m perfectly suited for the Dutch League. At the end of the season, I will speak with Roma over the next step in my career. For now my focus is on how to rescue NAC Bread”, he remarked.
Since finishing as top scorer for Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics this is the first time he has found the back of the net twice since his breakthrough season at Roma two season ago under coach Rudi Garcia.
