Enyimba FC of Aba have been warned not to underrate Benin Republic side Energie when both teams clash in the CAF Confederation Cup on the 7th of March.
The warning was given by Enyimba dependable defender Benjamin Francis who has played in all but one of their games this season, since joining the team on a free transfer before the start of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League season.
Francis who last played for Moldovan side Speranta Nisporeni told Owngoalnigeria.com in an exclusive chat that getting a favorable result away from home is their target for the first leg, but warned that they must not underrate the modest side from Benin Republic.
” We have to look for a balanced between doing it right from the first leg and finishing it off at home. This season we have concede less goals but we surely need to start converting our chances at the other end”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
” Usually games like this are very unpredictable because we are a known them unlike our opponents. We don’t have to play the favourite tag of the pitch. It’s best we show it on the pitch over two legs “, he remarked.
Speaking on his fine run of form for Enyimba, Francis narrowed it down to the professional atmosphere around the club plus the support of his teammates especially in games where the team struggled.
” I always know what I can offer because I never had doubts about my abilities. However my teammates have been very supportive. Starting from when I joined the team to games where as a team we failed to click. Above all we have professional set of people running the club”.
