Super Eagles defender Chidozie Awaziem has once again made the team of the week in France after his strong showing for Nantes in their 1-1 draw against Marseille.
The on loan FC Porto defender returned back to the starting line up after a two weeks absence from the team due to injury, and he didn’t show any sign of rustiness throughout the game.
Awaziem lasted the entire duration of the game, and his performances has earned him a spot in the team of the week in the French Ligue 1 for the fourth time this season following his move to the club on loan.
He was particularly impressive against Florian Thauvin despite the French man scoring a late equaliser to earn Marseille a point. Awaziem didn’t lose a single tackle against Thauvin and also looked solid in aerial duels.
His overall statistics in the game reads nine clearances, three interceptions, passing accuracy of 57.1% with one of the four long balls he launched getting to his teammate. In terms of duels he won nine out of the 15 duels he contested in.
