Revealed – Super Eagles Line Up Against Poland, Ekong Named Captain, Joel Obi Selected Ahead Of Onazi


The coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has revealed the line up for tonight’s pre World Cup friendly game against Poland in Wroclaw.


As first reported by, Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Odinaka Uzoho starts in goal ahead of Ikechukwu Ezenwa who joined the team two days back.

The major change is however in midfield where assistant captain Ogenyi Onazi was dropped for Torino midfielder Joel Obi, who has been very impressive in training with the Super Eagles.

William Troost-Ekong will captain the team with his regular defence partner Leon Balogun who captained the team in the absence of Mikel last year as his partner in central defence.

As first reported by this portal, Brian Idowu will also start tonight at left back ahead of Elderson Echiejile and Ola Aina ‎. In midfield Wilfred Ndidi kept his spot with Alex Iwobi, Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses leading the line.
