Coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr has ruled out Bursaspor of Turkey Shehu Abdullahi out of the Super Eagles friendly game against Serbia on Tuesday after the defender limped out of the 1-0 win over Poland.
Speaking after the game which was settled in Nigeria’s favour courtesy of a penalty converted by Victor Moses in the 61st minute, the coach said some players are injury doubt ahead of their next friendly game against Serbia.
Abdullahi was substituted with what looked like a hamstring injury, with Tyronne Ebuehi coming in his place, and according to Rohr although the injury didn’t look serious he will undergo a scan in England to have a clear picture of what is wrong with him.
” We have some injured players ahead of the game against Serbia, but we are hopeful the injury isn’t a serious one. Abdullahi will have a scan in England to determine if he can play but like you saw today Ebuehi can play if he is not fit”, Rohr said.
The coach also said he is hopeful that Las Palmas midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo will be available for the game against Serbia in London after fitness issues ruled him out of the team that defeated Poland yesterday.
