Francis Odinaka Uzoho has earned the praises of coach of the Super Eagles Gernot Rohr for his performance in Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Poland in yesterday pre World Cup friendly.
Uzoho was handed his first start by the Franco-German coach of the Super Eagles and the Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper improved as the wore on especially in the second half.
His display has not gone unnoticed by the coach, who took out time in his post match conference to praise the shot stopper who produced a big save to deny Polish dangerman Robert Lewandoski in the second half.
” I’m happy for my defence they did well in helping us protect our lead. Our goalkeeper (Uzoho) made a big save in the second half and our defenders also did their own job. We are happy to win against a top team”, Rohr said during the post match conference.
” We have seen some areas we have to better in. Personally we didn’t do well with balls in the air into our box. That’s one areas we all have to work on as a team not just the goalkeeper and defenders”.
