Goalkeepers In Focus – How Uzoho And Ezenwa Performed During Shooting Drills In Super Eagles Training

The two goalkeepers in the camp of the senior national team of Nigeria had a shooting practice with the trainers of the team ahead of their friendly game against ‎Serbia on Tuesday.

Francis Odinaka Uzoho and Ikechukwu Ezenwa are the two goalkeepers in the camp of the Super Eagles after visa issues ruled Chippa United goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi out of the game.

Akpeyi’s passport is still at the Polish Embassy where he submitted it for visa for the game against Poland on Friday, which unfortunately he couldn’t get before the game, but his passport is still with them.

The Chippa United goalkeeper will only get it back on Monday which means coach Gernot Rohr will have to focus on Uzoho and Ezenwa, and the duo had a drill to stretch them before they got involved in the practice game.

Uzoho whose team won the practice game was impressive with his impressive height and reach aiding his abilities to dive and palm away efforts unlike Ezenwa who missed some, but appeared sharper in terms of reflexes.

Ezenwa is widely expected to be in goal as Uzoho kept the entire duration of the 1-0 win over Poland, based on his performance in training he showed no sign of a goalkeeper who is just returning from a lay off.
