Enyimba FC of Aba have received a timely boost ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup game against Bidvest Wits FC of South Africa following the return to full fitness of left back Benjamin Francis.
The 24 year old who narrowly missed out on a spot in the Nigerian team that went to the World Cup 2014 in Brazil have been out injured for two weeks after picking up a knock in training.
He has missed the last three league games of the former Nigeria league champions, but he is now fully fit and will travel out with the rest of the squad later tonight ahead of their Saturday game against Bidvest Wits FC.
” I’m fit again and ready to help my team out if I get to play. The idea is to support the team even when you are not playing, but when you play there’s the extra push of doing extra for the benefit of the team other than supporting them”, he told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Francis have emerged as the first choice left back of coach Paul Aigbogun, as he cemented his spot in the team in the absence of CHAN Eagles ace Ikouwem Udoh who also doubles as captain of the Nigeria U20 team.
