Enyimba FC of Aba first choice left back Benjamin Francis has taken out time to explain the nature of the nasty injury which he suffered in their 1-1 draw away to South African side Bidvest Wits in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Francis was substituted after a nasty collision which landed him in hospital straight from the pitch, but the 24 year old who was close to making the World Cup 2014 squad of Nigeria says it wasn’t a life threatening situation.
” I was involved in a contest which left me with a deadly cut in my ear. The medics advised that I should be given urgent medical attention. Hence the decision to rush me to the hospital but I’m fine now”, Benjamin told Owngoalnigeria.com.
Speaking on if he will be fit for the return leg of their game against the South African side, Francis who missed Enyimba’s game against Kwara United said he is very optimistic he will be okay for the game.
” Our team doctors are to decide on my return to the pitch, but physically I feel very good. I only needed to rest and I have had enough since we returned from South Africa. Hopefully I should be okay for the return leg”, he concluded.
