Coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria Gernot Rohr is currently searching for a tall target man to lead the line for the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the World Cup 2018 in Russia later in the year.
The coach presently have Chanchung Yatai striker Odion Ighalo as his only out and out striker after Brown Ideye another physically imposing player fell out of favour with the Franco-German coach.
This much was made known to Owngoalnigeria.com by one of the backroom staff of the coach, who revealed that the preferred playing style of Rohr needs a physically imposing player be it 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
That was the reason behind the decision to call up FC Midtjylland forward Paul Onuachu , but his inactivity at his club side since February led to the decision to leave him out of the squad that played in their recent round of friendly games.
NAC Breda over six feet on loan forward Sadiq Umar is now closely under watch by Rohr following his impressive showing since joining the Dutch side on loan from Roma after an unhappy loan stint at Torino in the first half of the season.
Sadiq has emerged as one of the feared strikers in the Dutch Eredivisie with four goals and three assists to his name since his switch in January. He has also proven to be a handful for defenders.
