Plateau United Crash Out Of CAF Confederation Cup After 0-4 Loss Against USM Algers

The defending champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League Plateau United have crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 0-4 loss in Algeria against USM Algers.

Plateau United went into the game leading 2-1 on aggregate from the first leg played in Lagos. USMA showed their intent to overturn the scoreline from the blast of the whistle.

They went into the half time break with a 2-0 lead before adding two more goals in the second half to send Plateau United packing from the tournament on a 5-2 aggregate score.

Their elimination means they have now crashed out of two African Cup tournaments following their failure to make it into the group stages of the CAF Champions League, which led to their demotion to the Confederation Cup.
