In-form NAC Breda forward Sadiq Umar who is on loan at the Dutch side from Italian Serie A side Roma scored his fifth goal in ten games in his team’s 1-2 loss to Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.
The giant striker who represented Nigeria at the Rio 2016 Olympics and emerged as top scorer for the Bronze winning Nigerian team drew his side level in the 73rd minute , but watched on helplessly as his team conceded a late goal to lose the tie 1-2.
21 year old joined NAC Breda on a short term loan till the end of the season after an unhappy spell on loan with Torino in the Italian Serie A in the first half of the season, and so far the move has paid off nicely.
Speaking on his latest goal, Jololo as Sadiq is known and called by close friends expressed his unhappiness over the final result of the game before dedicating his goal to Kaduna based journalist Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman who is celebrating his birthday today.
” It’s not the best feeling when you score yet your team lose all three points. My idea is the team first. Hence I can’t say I’m entirely happy but at the same time I’m dedicating the goal to a journalist friend of mine Mohammed Mowiz Suleiman, who is celebrating his birthday today”, Sadiq told Owngoalnigeria.com.
