French Ligue 1 side Nantes conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 against Rennes in a Ligue 1 game played at their home ground Stade de la Beaujoire yesterday as part of the round 34 games in the league.
Eight placed Nantes took the lead against 5th placed Rennes courtesy of a strike from Adrien Thomasson three minutes before the half time break but James Edward Lea Siliki leveled scores nine minutes to full time . A score which ended as the full time result .
Nigerian defender Chidozie Awaziem was once again among the top performers for Nantes in what was his first start since his return to full fitness. He repaid the faith of coach Claudio Ranieri with a strong performance during the entire course of the game.
Awaziem made five vital clearance in the 19th, 38th , 45th, 71st and 80th minute and also came close to scoring with his effort in the 60th minute cleared off the line. Earlier he had an effort deflected in the first half which almost resulted to a goal for his team.
Whoscore.com rated him as one of the best players on the pitch both teams. A sign of how well he has grown since his loan move to the Ligue 1 side from Portuguese side FC Porto at the start of the season.
