Anthony Nwakaeme Back Among The Goals With Double For Hapoel Be’er Sheva In Big Win Over Maccabi Netanya

Hapoel Be’er Sheva were too much to handle for Maccabi Netanya in today’s Israeli league game as they smashed five goal past the home side to pick up a 5-1 win.

Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme who last scored in February scored a brace with the first coming from the spot in the 62nd minute before his second goal two minutes later to put his team 4-1 up. Ben Sahar scored his second of the game with fifteen minutes left to complete the rout .

Nwakaeme last scored in Be’er Sheva 3-0 win over Maccabi Petah Tikva on the 17th of February, and his brace in today’s game took his tally for the season to nine goals . A far cry from his last season tally of 14 although he has played 8 games less.

The power playing forward was voted the best player in the Israeli league last season and that earned him a call up to the senior national team of Nigeria, but he was snubbed by coach Gernot Rohr in their last round of friendly games against Poland and Serbia respectively.
