NPFL top scorer Junior Lokosa showed glimpses of his real potential in today’s training session with the Super Eagles but still didn’t do enough to get himself among the goals for the third session running.
Lokosa is yet to play in his preferred central striker role with coach Gernot Rohr playing him wide either on the right or left flank with the trio of Kelechi Iheanacho, Odion Ighalo and Simy Nwankwo playing preferred ahead of him.
He was however lively in today’s session and used his pace to good effect in a foot race against Ola Aina but struggled to get himself into goal scoring positions during the session.
Another player who is yet to truly stamp his authority on the proceedings in training is Joel Obi. The Torino man appears not to be fully fit as he looked out of pace in going in for tackles and also not entirely comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Lokomotiv Plovdiv defender Stephen Eze was however massive in training especially in the drills of one on one and two against one during the session. The towering defender was also dominant in aerial duels and his timing and movement has improved tremendously from the last time he was with the team.
