We Don’t Have Strikers Like Simy In Our Team – Rohr Okays Crotone Forward For Russia

Crotone of Italy forward Simy Nwankwo has forced his way into the squad of the senior national team of Nigeria ‎for the World Cup 2018 in Russia, coach of the team Gernot Rohr has suggested.

Simy won the heart of the Franco-German coach of the Nigerian team with an impressive performance in yesterday’s game against Congo DR which ended 1-1 in Port Hacourt yesterday.

Although he didn’t get among the goals he impressed with his all round play particularly his presence in the box which almost gifted him two goals with one of his efforts coming off the bar while the other was saved by the Congo DR shot stopper at full length.

Rohr was pleased with his performance and after the game, the coach suggested that the forward could make his team to Russia because he brings something different from other strikers in the team.

” I was satisfied with the performance of Simy because we didn’t have such a striker in our team before now. Congo DR are a very good side, we have learnt from this game and we will be better before our next game”, Rohr said after the game.
