Chelsea teen defender Ola Aina was missing from the Super Eagles first full training session in London ahead of their clash against England at Wembley on Saturday, Owngoalnigeria.com reports.
Aina as reported by this portal has been axed from the squad for the World Cup but was kept in the team following doubts over the fitness of Tyronne Ebuehi, who didn’t complete the friendly game against Congo DR due to cramps.
Speaking on the reason behind the exclusion of Aina who spent last season on loan to English Championship side Hull City, coach Gernot Rohr said his absence is due to the fact that they wanted to have eleven players up against eleven players in a mini training game.
” We have twenty five players here and we can’t play twelve against twelve but eleven against eleven “, Rohr said after the training session ahead of the high profile friendly against England.
Owngoalnigeria.com can also exclusively report that Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of the England game on Saturday as he is yet to resume full training with the rest of the squad.
Rohr explained that Ndidi is still recuperating from the injury which brought his season to a premature end at Leicester City with a treatment plan designed by the medical team of Leicester City.
