The three goalkeepers in the camp of the Nigerian team were up against the outfield players of the team in a shooting session in their final training session ahead of tomorrow’s friendly game against England.
Owngoalnigeria.com Michael James who witnessed the session, which was the only major drill the team had due to heavy downpour before the start of their training gives his take on the performance of the trio.
Francis Odinaka Uzoho : Used his long reach thanks to his height to good effect and overall looked very sharp and fit during the entire session of the drill. He saved more shots than the other goalkeepers and his grip was also very impressive.
Ikechukwu Ezenwa : He wasn’t far off as he also made some impressive stops but he still didn’t save as many shots like Uzoho. The Enyimba goalkeeper appears to have lost a bit of sharpness as his reaction time after making a save was also suspect.
Daniel Akpeyi : The Chippa United shot stopper was understandably not so flamboyant in making saves but showed good positioning which helped him make up for his not too impressive reflex. Still looked good but made fewer saves than the duo of Uzoho and Ezenwa.
