The poor playing surface of the Adokiye Amasiemaka Stadium in Port Hacourt was partly the reason why Nigerian didn’t parade their best player in the friendly game against Congo DR which ended 1-1.
Ahead of today’s friendly against England, coach of team Gernot Rohr has assured that he will parade his best legs at the Wembley pitch against Three Lions of England .
Rohr said the game against England will be the real test for his team going into the World Cup unlike the last game where he didn’t play his best players because of the poor playing surface of the pitch.
Nigeria will depart England for Austria on Sunday for the final phase of their training camp ahead of the World Cup but they will still play another friendly game against Czech Republic on the 6th of June before their opening match at the World Cup.
Grouped alongside Croatia, Argentina and Iceland in group D, Nigeria will open their campaign against Croatia before taking on Iceland in their second game with Argentina lined up as their final group opponents.
“It is a big test. In the last match we didn’t play our best team, The pitch in our last match was not so good. But this is a good pitch for us, we will try to play our best team on Saturday . Perhaps there will be one or two players who are not in the best team because of injury, but tomorrow we will see the team which has a chance to start against Croatia”, Rohr said yesterday.
