Super Eagles of Nigeria first choice goalkeeper Francis Odinaka Uzoho is on the radar of newly promoted La Liga outfit Huesca following breakdown in talks with Deportivo La Coruna over extending his contract at the club.
Uzoho is certain to be in goal for Nigeria at the Russia 2018 World Cup after displacing the duo of Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Daniel Akpeyi in the battle for the first choice spot for Nigeria.
His contract with Deportivo La Coruna where he is presently third choice is due to expire on the 30th of July and even though the club have opened talks over an extension with him, both parties are yet to agree on a deal.
The former Nigeria U17 goalkeeper joined the recently relegated La Liga side on a one year deal from Qatar based Aspire Academy, a move first reported by this portal. He rose to the first team and kept three games before he was demoted to the B team following the axing of coach Pepe Mel.
At the B team he emerged as the first choice goalkeeper and gained favour in the sight of coach of the Nigerian team Gernot Rohr who appears to have anointed him as his first choice for the World Cup in Russia.
Huesca who were newly promoted to the top division in Spain have targeted the 19 year old with their first choice goalkeeper Alejandro Remiro set to return to his parent club Athletico Bilbao in the summer following the expiration of his loan deal.
