Egyptian giants Al-Ahly are currently standing in the way of Nigerian forward Junior Ajayi and a move to Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon who are keen on acquiring his service for next season.
Sporting Lisbon have reportedly hold talks with Al-Ahly but the Egyptian side are holding out for a fee in excess of €2m as transfer fee for the 22 year old who they signed for over $800,000 two seasons ago from Tunisian side Sfaxien.
Ajayi who made the list of CAF Finest XI during the last CAF Awards is keen on a move to Europe but Ahly are not keen on letting him leave as they view him as an integral part of their plans for next season.
The striker who scored nine league goals with ten assists from 27 games last season has reached out to the club with a plea for them to lower their demands to enable him complete the move.
A meeting with the club will take place before the start of pre season with Ajayi’s agent expected to be in attendance as they aim to push a move for him to move to Europe to aid his chances of breaking into the senior national team of Nigeria.
