The battle for the right back spot of the Super Eagles between Shehu Abdullahi and Tyronne Ebuehi is far from over base on yesterday’s line up in training ahead of Saturday’s game against Croatia.
Ebuehi returned from a bleeding nose picked up in training two days ago, but was deployed to the B team with Abdullahi who has trained with the B team in their previous session taking his spot in the A team.
Abdullahi didn’t do bad as part of a back four which also had Brian Idowu, William Troost-Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo with Francis Uzoho in goal during yesterday’s training session.
Although a decision is yet to be made on who will start between the duo, Owngoalnigeria.com correspondent however gathered that the formation the team plays will determine who will start between the duo.
Dutch-Nigerian full back Ebuehi is widely viewed by many as a refined and modern day right back due to his abilities to combine his defensive duties with forays upfront to support the attack, unlike Abdullahi who is usually at his best in his primary role as a defender.
