Nigeria Vs Croatia – Gernot Rohr Reverts Mikel To His Old Role At Chelsea

Captain of the Super Eagles of Nigeria John Obi Mikel won’t be operating in the role he has been playing for Nigeria since the appointment of Franco-German coach Gernot Rohr, can exclusively reveal.

Mikel has been deployed in a role behind the striker by Rohr and despite the impressive performance of the Tianjin Teda man in the role, he is said to be played in a different role today.

He has been given a role just in front of the back four as part of the plans to nullify the threat of Croatia which lies in their midfield with the duo of Ivan Rakitic and captain Luka Modric.

Wilfred Ndidi will be played ahead of him with Oghenekaro Etebo operating in a more advanced role behind the striker. Although they all have been mandated to track back and help the defence once they lost possession.
